Double J Machinery is owned and operated by John who has been working as a qualified Diesel Mechanic for over four decades.

John previously owned and operated his own mechanical repair business for heavy earth moving and agricultural machinery in Central Queensland.

In 2010, John sold his business and relocated to Brisbane to be with his family. Moving away from working on heavy rural machinery, John established Double J Machinery to utilise his skillset in the new urban markets of South East Queensland.

Double J Machinery started off as a business selling refurbished machinery such as air compressors, generators and forklifts. Through this work, it soon became apparent that there was an underserved niche market in the greater Brisbane area:
